Support for "A Quiet Language"

Help us bring "A Quiet Language" to the stage

In 1965, Elizabeth Cameron Dalman OAM changed Australian dance forever when she founded Australian Dance Theatre. Creating boundary pushing works against a backdrop of social upheaval and activism, ADT was seen as one of the foremost voices in Australian contemporary performance.

Now, as the company heads towards its 60th anniversary in 2025, we welcome Elizabeth back to the company to create a new work alongside Artistic Director Daniel Riley.

In A Quiet Language, Elizabeth and Daniel untangle the ideas of the past and fearlessly start a conversation through movement, time and space.

Development begins in May 2024 which is why we are seeking your investment in this significant work today.

To kick start our 2024 campaign, we invite you to make a donation to support one of the following areas:

  • $35 will subsidise the cost for two high school students to attend "A Quiet Language"

  • $160 will support the digitisation of Elizabeth Cameron Dalman's archive

  • $550 will support the creation of a costume for "A Quiet Language"

  • $1,500 pays for one of Elizabeth's original ensemble members to work with the ADT company for one week in the studio
